More work to be done...

Lots of work to do when you sell your home.... Judy actually started packing some stuff up and getting a bunch of stuff ready to go in the garage sale. She has a good system going, with a $1 box and a $2 dollar box etc.... lots of stuff has to go.

I spent time this afternoon talking to you new landlord, Paul Cook from the KOA. Judy wanted to make sure he knew we were comming in May, and would have a spot for us to stay. He says we may have to move our spot a few times over the summer but no big deal, all should be good. Room for our car and motorcycles as well, which is good!

Next I talked to Tech Mobile Communication, a Company out of Lindsay and Guelph that sell Internet and Satelite TV solutions for any mobile application. That would be us.....mobile..... my favorite word these days is "portable"..... They have a system the sell for about $2,000 that gives you high speed internet and Star Choice TV . Looks good on the internet, so I am going to head over to Lindsay and take this thing for a test drive. Will bring my laptop I guess, and give it a demo... If it works good, will probably go with this system, and add a new PVR so Judy can record all her shows. This Company comes recomended by a lot of the RV bloggers I follow. Made me feel good in that you set up your dish by obtaining you current GPS co ordinates, and I just happend to buy a nice Magellan hand held GPS which gives you your co ordinates in a flash.... it is all starting to come together.

Things keep moving...

The people who put in the offer on our home accepted our sign back and agreed to the May 15th closing....yipee!!!! All that is left now is a home inspection which is scheduled for Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. and then we should be good to put up the SOLD sign....Dave can't wait....

RV Warehouse is working on our rig. Did all the testing today on the unit, and so far found a small Propane leak underneath, and made the correction to fix it. Now they are getting the quotes on new blinds, water purifier, and shower door.

We planned our first big trip for the first of June. We are going to Lake George, New York, to attend the Americade Motorcycle Rally. Big Show! Was there 8 years ago and about 10000 bikes then, wonder what it will be like now?????

Also planning a big trip up to Manitoulin Island in Sept. on Labour Day. Going with Dave and Angella and do some touring.

Lots of trips planned....love it!

SUPER SATURDAY! THE STARS WERE IN LINE!

Wow.....is all we can say. What a day yesterday was for us!

It all started by Judy being up and ready early to leave for Listowel....we were on the road at 8:00 however we did stop for a great breakfast at the Sunway Restaruant. We made it to the Dealership by 11:30 to see our new ride! They had it READY.... We could not have asked for more. Everything we wanted done was done! They cleaned it up like you would not believe, it is spotless. The fixed all the minor things needing fixin and we spent an hour doing our inspection. Then came the hard part- yes you have to give them your money before you can ride away...:-((

After a quick Mickey D lunch, we hit the road with the Endura leading the way with our trusty pontiac a close 2nd. We brought our new walkie talkies, and you would not believe how good they work from motorhome to car, even with a mile separating us... we were impressed! Reality struck home when I decided to stop for diesel fuel in Alliston. The rig had half a tank when we picked it up, and the gauge was just under the half when we stopped at a spot that was 77 cents on the way by in the morning, but now at 82 cents when we want it. After a long period of time to fill up, we found out the dark side of RVing....229 litres and $191.00 later.....ouch! Oh well, it is only money, and we make more of it every day!

Stopped in the see the Morrisons and camped out in thier driveway for a while and all of us kicked the tires.... Good to see them again. Hopefully one day, they will buy some kind of rig/rv/fifth wheel and we will sail away together into the distant sun.

We headed to the RV Warehouse in Cookstown next and left the rig there so they can look at it next week and price out some work we want done....new blinds for the windows....new water puriefier system...system checks.....etc.

After Cookstown it was time to fly home.... we had business to attend to. After a quick hot tub and cocktail, Judy made up supper and I settled in to watch Toronto lose again......At 8:30 our Real Estate Agent, Dave Reid, showed up and told us another agent would soon be here with an offer on the house. She wanted to meet with all of us.....seemed strange. Her name is Sue Ward, and she came in and dropped a bomb on us.... She had clients that viewed the house last week on Monday afternoon, and decided they were in love with our house. They instructed Sue to present us an offer of FULL LISTING PRICE, AND NO CONDITIONS! After Judy and I picked up poor Dave Reid off the floor, and put him back on the couch...we took it all in. It is a great offer, Judy and I are thrilled. They want all of our appliances with the purchase, but hey, offer me full price and I will throw in the shirt off my back, and maybe a cat or two.......(sorry Cleo and Patra...just kiddin...) The purchasers wanted to close on April 17, yikes, RV parks are not even open then.....after consulting Dave (our guru) we signed the offer back with a closing of May 15th. All indications are we should be good to go. Just need final confirmation from the purchasers. One thing for sure, they are getting a nice home, in a great area for their hard earned money. The other thing for sure is our bank account will look a lot better after closing!

So as you can see, Super Saturday was exciting for us! Forgot to read my horiscope in the morning, but man, it must have been a good one.....

I am going to post a bunch of new pics of our new ride that Judy took yesterday. Hopefully, if you click on them....they will get BIG for you....

Just a wild Friday!

Just another wild Friday at the Bank and at the Prison, however, as we say these days, "just another day closer to retirement"....

Fairly warm here today, with snow melting, however still not fast enough! Tomorrow is supposed to be 12+ degrees so maybe we will get rid of some yet...

Lots of activity on our house today, as we have been informed of a Real Estate showing for Sunday at 12:30 and another one for Monday afternoon while we are at work....

Also today, I found out that we will be receiving an offer on the house at 8:30 p.m. Saturday night. The house was shown last Monday by Sutton Real Estate, and the people are presenting their offer to us tomorrow. The agent actually wants to meet with us, and our agent Dave to do the presentation...poor Dave has to work at the Cottage Show all day tomorrow in Toronto and then drive up to our house for the offer presentation....that's the life of a Real Estate Agent! In talking to Dave on the phone today, it appears 4 houses have sold this week in Gravenhurst....the spring market is on! With any luck it may be 5!

Gotta go to Listowel tomorrow morning and do final inspection of the Endura and if all is well, we will bring it back to Cookstown anyways, for some work to be down, and systems to be tested.

Lots on the go....better head for bed.

Count down is on!

Hopefully we pick up our new ride on Saturday at the Dealership if all is well to go! So far, so good.

We will just be bringing it over to the RV Warehouse at Cookstown to have some more work done to it. Hopefully new shades for the windows, and possibly a new set of shower doors and a new water purification system to be installed. Don't want to get sick from bad water ya know...

Weather is starting to warm up here, but we still have way too much snow on the ground....ggrrrrrrr.....

Another Monday in the books....

The Dealership called today, starting to make the final arrangements to pick up our Endura on Saturday. Also arranged the Insurance for it.... not cheap...
Posted another picture of the inside of the Endura here, taken on the Saturday that I went to check it all out.
Had an agent from Sutton Group Real Estate show the house this afternoon, haven't heard anything yet.
Maybe one day soon all our snow will be gone and people will actually be able to see our yard...

It is getting closer!

Well, we have finally joined all the Bloggers out there and started our new blog, RVLIFEONWHEELS.

We have now purchased our new RV, (well....new to us...) a 2004 Gulf Stream Endura. We will get possession probably next Saturday, March 28/09. Can't wait. The Dealership where we bought it, Larry Hudson Pontiac GMC in Listowel, Ontario, are just putting the finishing touches to it now. It is in excellent shape, and actually, only has 6,340 miles on it. Yes, it is in miles, as it was originally a U.S. Unit purchased by the Dealership in the States.
I tried to insert a picture of the inside in this blog, but being new to this, I could not get it where I wanted it, which would have been right here! Anyways, the picture is of the dinette area inside, which is part of the living area. The RV is 36 feet long with a separate rear bedroom, and living and dining area, and of course with a full washroom.
The RV is built by Gulf Stream, and is on a Kodiak Chasis, which is built by GM and is powered by a V8 GM DuraMax Diesel Engine (Argh...Argh...)
Hopefully it will allow us to do the travelling we want to do.
We currently have our house up for sales, and plan on parking our RV for this summer at our Local KOA Kampground in Gravenhurst. This fall, lookout, it will be time to hit the road and do some travelling. Arizona is starting to sound real good for us to spend the winter of 09/10.
Well this all for now. Don't want to tell you all our trade secrets on the first Blog....however, at least we are up and running.
