The day of the big BLOW....

Today the weather started out real lousy when I was walking to work, it was spitting out. Then rain came, and I guess at about 11:00 a.m. the wind picked up, and actually picked our gazeebo up on our back deck, and threw it over the roof of the house, hitting our roof vent on the way, and then landing in the front yard.....yikes.... Our neighbour Frank picked it up off his lawn and dragged it back over to ours..... Could have been worse I guess....

That is it for today, will watch a bit of hockey tonight, Shawn is starting to sweat with Calgary down 2 games to St. Louis.....

New Chrome on my Baby!! Check it out!

Back on Dec. 25th, Santa brought me some new chrome for my 2 wheel ride. Check it out in the picture below. (Or above, I can never seem to tell where they are going to land....) . Hmmm...seems it landed above this writing.... Anyways, does it not look great, check out the battery covers, the are the large chrome pans, right below the drivers seat....I think they are cool, so does my buddy David, who upon seeing my new parts, begged his Wife, Angella, to order a set for his ride....had to have them, they did look cool when we put my parts on his bike, his is red....

The 4 of us went riding today, that is, Judy and I, and David and Angella..... We went out to Baysville, and then up to Timy's in Huntsville, and then took the Ravenscliff road out to Rosseau, it was ausome. Nice and warm, ( well, depends on how dressed you were, (I was)). From Rosseau, on through Port Stanley and into Bala, and back to the Hurst. Nice Ride, thanks David and Angella.... we enjoyed.

Spent a lot of time this weekend raking up the front and back lawn, have to keep it up for new prospective buyers. I hate raking....

Biggest thing this weekend was a visit from our Daughter Kristina and Chris. They came up to Gravenhurst to shop.... even better when you don't have to spend money. Kristina and Chris went through the house to decide on furniture for us to ship upon the sale of our home. Went well, will need a big truck or something..... On Saturday, we all went to Orillia and took Grama out to dinner at the King's buffet, and had a great time, with a great meal.

Also this weekend I got the motorcycle trailer out of the back yard into the driveway. Had to clean it out, (it was not real dirty, only stored Dave and Angella's bikes all winter). Got the hose and soap out and gave it a real good wash in the driveway, and then set about some work inside. I was able to mount my Dad's Army Box in the front of the trailer for when we finally go. It will be great to store all kinds of stuff in. I really have an attachment for my Dad's Army Box for some reason. Did not want to leave it behind. It even has his name stensiled on it. Will take a picture of it this week and post it on the Blog. Anyways, took a picture of the bike trailer and will post it here.

Well, that is about it for this weekend...yikes, seems like we did a lot.... had fun though....

Back to work tomorrow....

A New Toy to Play with!!!

Last weekend I made the trip over to Lindsay and spent the afternoon with Armond from Tech Mobile Communications, and decided to pick up one of their internet solutions, for use in our new RV when we "hit" the road. This system is real neat. You can set up the whole thing is less than 20 minutes from scratch. All you need is your handy little hand held gps (which I happened to pick up allready) and you punch in your co-ordinates in the computer, and it tells you where to point the dish. It is pretty easy to set up. We will also be able to bring in HD Bell Expressview coverage off the same system, pointing at the same Hughs Satelite. Cool. I have not subscribed yet to the internet provider, but will do once we move into the RV. At least we will be able to keep in communication with everyone and be able to surf, and blog and bank and do all those cool things you can on the internet. The picture is taken by my buddy Dave LeMaitre who dropped by and help me set up the dish and line it up on the bird in the sky. Did not take us long at all. Seems like a very high quality product, and the supplier came very highly recommended.

On Easter Sunday I did keep with tradition, (yes, we went to family Easter Dinner compliments of Grama Hollinger) and got the motorcycles out of winter storage. It was pretty ccccccold driving on Sunday afternoon, but I did go out. Could not convince Judy to go out though.... We had David and Angella's bikes in storage and they dropped by and we rescued thier as well, and then David and I got into oil changes on them. A great way to spend the afternoon. Well, here is to another great riding season. They are saying 17 degrees by this Saturday, and that will make us a warm as Johnson City, Tennessee, or maybe Woodstock, Ont. who knows......

Anyways, that is enough for tonight....sleep time....

Hoppy Easter!!

When things seem to good to be true....

Ok, Judy here. John has been doing all the blogging so far and today on Good Friday, I decided it was my turn.

Our house deal seemed too good to be true, and I guess that was the case. The people that put in the offer did not have the means to close the deal so it was all a show. Oh well, it just wasn't meant to be and we know it will sell soon. It is a great house in a great neighbourhood and there are lots of people out there looking. This has given us the opportunity to relax this long weekend instead of going crazy.

Last week, I bought some grass in a bag for our cats. Cats love to eat grass and this bag is just for that purpose. It had grown the required 2-4" today so I called Cleo & Patra and they both went crazy for awhile having their own Spring fling indoors!

Hope everyone has a wonderfully blessed Easter!

April is cancer month and so I thought I would post a picture of some nice dafodills that mom and I both bought this past Friday downtown. Wonderfull flowers and a great colour....

Went over to Lindsay yesterday and visited Tech Mobile Communications. I purchased their sulution for internet, which is a satelite system. Spent the whole afternoon with Armand, who went through the whole set up procedure with me and did a terrific job. It is a well made quality piece of equiptment and should service us very well. It allows you to basically get internet anywhere in Canada, USA and Mexico. Beyond that you are on your own. Takes about 20 minutes or less to set it up and line up the dish. Helps a whole lot if you have a GPS to give you your location co-ordinates, and we happen to have a very nice Magallen GPS that gives you the required numbers in a flash!

Also my Friend, David (Gator) LaMaitre, picked me up from his favorite truck stop, a real nice top of the line Cobra Night Hawk CB Radio for the Endura. That will keep us in touch 10-4 with all the good buddies out there....(they don't use that term any more...) so I have to learn the 10 codes all over again. Think I will use the handle "Maverick" on the air waves.... Just need to get the motor home so I can install it and put on the antenna's, that I don't have yet.''

Next on the agenda is to head to Oakville tomorrow to go and see Emmie and Jenn, as they fly home from Panama and we pick them up at Buffalo airport. Have to baby sit Emmie on Tuesday, that will keep Judy running....
