Old Tucson Studio Tour.... watch out John Wayne!

Today from the get go we decided it was time to tour the "Old Tucson Studios". They were build back in the 1930s as a film studio to make 1 movie.... they have now made over 200 movies and still going, along with over 150 TV shows and countless music videos.... lots of history here. The main stay actor of the the Studio is the Duke himself, John Wayne! He made 4 movies here. If you watched The Three Amigos, or Cannon Ball Run, you have seen the Tucson Studios. There is an impressive amount of films made here, and all big names! The mountain behind the motorcycles in this 1st pic is famous as it is in most of the movies created here. The studio is built on a National Park right in the middle of the Tucson Mountains.



No town is good unless it has a court house and a gallow! Did you know the last public hanging in the States was in 1937 in Kentucky!


You gotta have a stagecoach in town, how else you gonna get mail!


This hotel was made famous in The Three Amigos...



A bad fight broke out in the hotel while we were there and this dude below was looking for trouble....

Billy the Kidd was in town looking to recruit new gang members and talked these two guys into hooking up with him.... The guy on the ground cheated at cards and paid the price....


Ouch... that has to hurt, before ya know it the new gang members are fighting each other, is this how the west was won?


Augh...come on..... right in the gut!


Billy was ticked that his new gang members were fighting, so he started speaking with his gun!


You better be good if you are going to start shooting at Billy the Kidd!

He tries hiding up on the roof from Billy but guess what happens....

Yup.... the bigger they are.... the harder they fall....


More on Billy in a minute, it was time for Miss Kitty and the Can Can Girls.... yipee!

They had a good high powered show for all....

A little while later we found out Billy got arrested in Tucson and was scheduled to hang on the gallows, but the young lady in the pic, hid a gun for Billy in the outhouse, and before you know it, Billy shot the Sheriff and the Deputy....

Billy made his quick get away after the killings....

We carried on with the tour of the Tucson Gold Mine, and found this tourist who took 1 too many pictures of the mine....

This guy was in the mine for a long time, and was good a spooking the young kids....

Time for something a little less stressful........... a ride on the train....

Judy drove us around the old antique car course on a tour....

Go ahead, become a horse thief and see what happens to you....

They had a stunt show at the old mission building, and here is the Sheriff on the zip line....

In any good duster, there is going to be tall buildings, lots of gun play, and someone is going to get shot, and probably fall off the building, and they did with a thump!

He was only stunned for a couple seconds....

All in all, another great day in Az.

Spent the day at the Studio, and then it was back to the Resort for Happy Hour with our neighbors, and then hot tub time of course....
