Olympic Fever!

Hello All.... Canada's moment has finally come with the start of the Olympic Games. As I type up this post, the opening ceremonies are in progress.

The day started early today around 7:30 as I watched the Olympic Torch Relay go through Vancouver! RBC was a proud sponsor of the torch relay and I was very proud to be a member of RBC!

On a sad note to the Olympics, a young Athlete from Georgia passed away after an accident on the Luge run... too bad.

Just a short blog tonight as I am too busy watching the Olympics and also keeping my eye on that Leaf game tonight.... too much going on...

Beautiful day here in Tucson today, lots of sun and warm again! Nice after last weeks rain!

Talked to Emmie today, (OK, Judy and Jenn too!) They are all doing fine and can't wait for the opening ceremonies of the Olympics...

On another sad note, we learned of the passing of Brian Racicot of Sudbury today. Judy worked with his wife, Maureen, and we got to know them very well. Last summer on Labour Day, we visited Manitoulin Island with Dave and Angela. We took time to go and visit Brian and Maureen over at their cottage. We had a great visit, but came to realise that Brian was not well. Brian had a wonderful career with the Sudbury Regional Police. You will be missed Brian...

Took another shorter ride in the mountains around Tucson today, as it was way too nice not to go out. Took some pictures of the mountains again, but decided not to post them as you have had a big dose of mountains already....

Enjoy the Olympics.... I will!

Till tomorrow.....

  1. Went to the celebration of Brian's life this past weekend in Sudbury. It was extremely moving and I was amazed at the amount of people Brian Racicot had helped or befriended over his life. He will definately be missed.
