On the road again.....

Yes, we are on the road again... with all the rumbling of the earthquake still around us. In the middle of last night I was awake for a couple of minutes, just long enough to feel one of the aftershocks of Sunday's Earthquake... It is all the news out here, and there ended up being a lot of damage in Calexico, CA. where we ended up touring a couple of times back in January... it was on our way out to El Centro.
We left about 9:30 this morning, and headed north on CA. Hwy. #62 towards Joshua Tree National Park. It was real windy still today, however I knew the wind would be at our backs, and it was.... big time. It simply pushed us across California! We probably got around 38 mpg today! One thing for sure, Joshua Tree National Forest is an amazing place.... we only got to see a bit of it today, but "We will be back...." Here are some pics Judy took out the front window of the RV...

We pulled off here to have our lunch, very quiet and peaceful... we watched a couple who had hiked up a mountain out our dining room window...
After lunch, Judy "EAGLE" eye, noticed these flowers so we stopped for a picture... these were on in one spot on the desert floor, and we have no clue as to what they are... we need a desert flower book or something....

About 2:00 this afternoon, we made it over the Colorado River, and of course, back into Arizona, at the Town of Parker. A quick stop to refresh our food inventory, and we headed off for Lake Havasu City, where we are located tonight.... this next pic was some of the development along the Colorado River... very nice area.... lots of neat mountains.

There were lots of RV Resorts right on the Colorado River... this one is on the California side, while we drive up the Arizona side.

Now this next picture is a bit of a stretch, but stay with me... It is a picture of the London Bridge, that was purchased from the British, and moved brick by brick to Lake Havasu, and put back together again, as a tourist trap... We could not get any closer with our RV, so that is why the picture is at a distance...

This last picture is of Lake Havasu as we drove into Town. We are on the north side of Town.

We will just stay here overnight, and be on the road again in the morning sometime... we will be back though, to this area, as it is real nice and warrants more time to be spent here....

Till tomorrow....
