Hook me up!

We have had a busy weekend, travelling down to Waterloo to visit Deb and Gerard. Had a great time going to Deb's concert, along with Chris and Kristina on Saturday Night.
We are back home now, and trying to get caught up on some blog material.
On Thursday of last week, I had the Jeep and RV down to Bella Vista RV just south of Orillia to have the towing package installed. It is now all complete and turned out simply excellent! Here is a picture of the Jeep all hooked up behind the RV....

They had to dismantle the whole front end of the Jeep to install the necessary base plates and other gear on the front of the Jeep, which enables it to be hooked up...

The system works good, and the Jeep tracks great behind the RV. You cannot see the Jeep while you are driving, just have to trust it is there and all is OK. I can turn on my rear view camera system to check it when I feel the need!

One more attached view...
Here you can see the complete hook up. The two big black bars are the actual hitch arms, holding the Jeep to the RV. The two curly black cables on the outside, are both safety cables that will hold the Jeep if the hitch somehow lets go. The blue curly wire is the wire that feeds all the RV lights directly to the back of the Jeep, so it appears the Jeep is running with full lights while being towed. And the small red curly wire to the left of the blue wire is a break away switch, which will apply the breaks on the Jeep, should all systems fail and the Jeep separates from the RV. The Jeep has an on board electronic breaking system which I will take a picture of and explain a little further on a future blog...

I have a bunch of pictures from the weekend, but blogger is giving me a very hard time tonight on the upload, so I simply gave up..... tomorrow is another day.

till tomorrow...
