Maintenance Day...

Well, at least our weather improved a bit today, after we had the big thunder boomers last night along with a bunch of rain to boot!

Judy headed into Town to help out with the kids this morning, as Kristina had a meeting to attend. I stayed at the RV and worked on maintenance all day..

That is our fantastic vent you see pictured above...you don't see the Max Air Vent that I put overtop. It was real dirty along with the bathroom vent, so a couple hours was spent cleaning. Next you can see the can of sealer I use, to totally re-seal the vent. This stuff is amazing! I love the way it works...

This product is made by Lanco. I bought it down in Florida last winter when our vent was leaking. You simply clean up your surface and paint this stuff on. It dries quickly and is like a liquid rubber. It is tough when it dries and best of all...it does not leak. This gallon can was $35.00 and worth every dime. You can use it anywhere on the RV that might leak. You can paint your entire roof with it, I think it is meant more for that purpose.

If you have a leak...think about this stuff!

Till tomorrow...

Hey...where did our nice weather go to???

Allright, who took our great weather??? Someone did... kind of cool and wet here again, with a little bit of sun mixed in, we expect better!

Not too much going on here the past couple days... just taking life easy. I finished up the wall paper job yesterday afternoon, and was able to put all the tools away, just sit back and admire.

Today we were off to our walking track this morning, and then this afternoon, we did a bunch of computer work around the RV, as we were expecting rain. I worked on an 80 slide power point presentation for use at our Church. Ended up taking a couple of hours...

We had an invite to have dinner with the kids, so we headed into Town...

Of course this was a great opportunity to play with Gwenny and Charlie...

I was the motor for Charlie's buggy... he loves to drive.

This was one of those moments during the day we had some fun!

...a great BBQ'd Dinner was enjoyed by all.

The kids were loaded up to head out to the ball game...

Gwenny's Grampa showed up, and a big game of "Ring around the Rosie" was played... one of those kind of days!

Till tomorrow...

All good things come to an end...

After just a fantastic weekend visiting Dave and Angela, it was time to head back down to southern Ontario today... but we had quite a few things to do as we travelled.

First stop in Orillia, after we left Bracebridge, was Judy's Brother's place. Garry and Shelly are heading back down to Disney World this coming December, and once again they want us to join them. This is the third year in a row now that we will meet up with them in Florida. Judy brought in her Laptop Computer, and soon had our reservations and tickets all lined up for this year. This year the Magic Kingdom is on the agenda for a visit! Lookout Mickey!

After we left Garry and Shelly's place, we headed over and visited with my Mom. She was still all excited about last weekend's trip to Mallory Town to take in the Family Reunion. We stopped by to leave Mom a Birthday Gift, as next weekend is her 91st if you can believe it! She is still doing just great!

She wanted to go out for lunch today so treated Judy and I to a great lunch at a newer local Restaurant in Orillia, Lake Country Grill. I had the Haddock and Chips, and they were real good! Thanks Mom!

Right after lunch we had to head down to Barrie, to attend a 2:00 p.m. visit with our Lawyer. A few weeks ago we were arranging to have new Wills and Power of Attorney's made up, and today we had to sign them all.

We spent an hour reviewing all the documents, and talking with the Lawyer before she was totally satisfied, and declared it was time to sign! The wheels of justice were just a turning, as we executed all the documents and collected a ream of copies for our records. The originals of course are all heading for the top secret Will Vault over at Scotia Trust. We paid the bill, and made our escape!

Managed to squeek through Toronto without any major traffic delays, which is a miracle in itself it seems these day...

Certainly have to say "Thanks Again..." to David and Angela for hosting us for the weekend... we had a blast and certainly did not leave hungry!

Till tomorrow...

Grill it...they will come!

David and Angella hosted a great BBQ up in Bracebridge today...

"Grill it and they will come" says his shirt...and they did!

Friends came over from the Midland area and we had a great time...

Had some great pics today, but problems transferring them to the iPad are keeping them out of the Blog tonight.

The weather here turned out much better than advertised which was great! Heading back down south tomorrow.

Till tomorrow...

Guess I forgot to tell you... We are up in Bracebridge!

Judy and I hit the road first thing this morning, and made the three and a half hour drive up to Bracebridge, to visit David and Angela...

David and I decided to head over to Gravenhurst and take in Ribfest and the big Boat Show...had a great time!

Gravenhurst has a great Boston Pizza right on Lake Muskoka, at the main Wharf. You can sit out right on the water and eat.

There were lots of boats on display...the black one you see in the pic was only $350,000.00! What a steal!

There were lots...

No problem hearing your tunes on the speakers above...

You can't be in Muskoka without a Steamship going by...although the Wenonah pictured above has a gas engine...

There were lots of people kicking tires and eating ribs...

Above are all the rib vendors...they were lined up big time.

They charge $23.00 for a full rack of ribs...we didn't eat...waited till we got back to the house.

Check out this kid climbing the wall...not me thanks.

When we first arrived in Bracebridge, Judy arranged to have lunch with a good friend and former co-worker Mary. We laughed for an hour and a half! Good to see her again, and even better to hear the good news health wise, about her Husband David. ( who is an avid reader of this Blog I might add...) He has fought a real hard battle the last 18 months or so, and is doing well!

Judy and Mary worked for one of Canada's Medium, and Minimun Prisons...no, they were not just out on weekend passes Rick... (Actually, Mary is still working...).

Anyways, great to see Mary again, and continued good health to Dave, and keep on reading!

Till tomorrow...

Moving along with my wall repair today...

After my regular walk this morning, I started in on the wall repair job... we are getting there. I was able to put the replacement wall board on today, and actually got a start on the new wallpaper job.

I managed to get the window covering back up again, and the new wall is looking pretty good. It was difficult and I had to mess around a bit to get it fitted properly. Now I just have to finish off the wall papering, with is a little fininiky to do... lots of patience required.

Rick was commenting last night, on how I was going to match up the colour of the new wall board. We decided to put new wall paper over the entire wall, and chose a very high grade paper, that simply covers all previous sins on your wall.

Things are going on in Tennessee with Shawn and Jenn, and the girls... they recently visited a Zoo in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I got a laugh out of the shirt Paige chose to wear to the Zoo... "True Canadian Beauty"

Looks like they had a blast at the Zoo... thanks Jenn, for the pictures. That is Jenn's Mom with Paige above, feeding the Giraffe. She is down visiting the gang in Tennessee for a while.

This week Emmie got to attend Cheer Camp. Jenn posted a great video of the kids doing a Cheer Routine, but for the life of me I could not get the video off of Facebook. Good to see them getting involved in lots of activities in Tennessee.

This morning, Kristina and Judy headed over to Dorchester, and took in a nice splash pad.

Charlie found a nice slide by the looks of it...

Check out the fire hydrant... Charlie just walks up to it... wonder if it is cold???

Gwenny is firing the water canon!

There was also a big wading pool that was a big hit...

Nothing like enjoying the good life... just a bunch of happy Grand Kids!

Till tomorrow...

Working 9 to 5...

Just another terrific day here in Ontario again with great seasonal weather... I was out the door at just past 8:00 this morning, with work on my mind! It was time to wash down the RV...

I had noticed that our roof on the RV was quite dirty, so it was time to clean up... did not take any pictures of the work today... simply too busy to stop! We are parked under a couple big trees here, so dirt from the tree lands right on the roof!

After the roof, I just carried on and washed the whole RV. Broke out my fancy new squeege that I bought and dried it all off as well... looks like it just came out of the box.

After lunch, I decided to carry on a bit with the wall repair job inside the RV.

The first thing I had to do today was fit in a piece of wall board against the outside wall of the RV. I had to remove this layer as it got a bit damp. In order to keep the proper spacing in the reconstruction, this board had to go in.

Next was to install the 1 inch thick layer of strafoam insulation. That is the pink stuff you see in the picture above...This helps keep you warm during the cooler days of the fall. I finished up installing all the insulation today, and now all that is left is to install the final layer of wall board. Probably tomorrow...Can't use nails during this process, it all has to be glued together.

Before you know it... the day was done!

Till tomorrow....
